The Catholic Conference of Oklahoma offers a voice to Oklahoma’s quarter million or more Catholics which articulates our public policy concerns from a moral framework based on faith and reason, rather than partisan and political interests.
Catholic Christians share in the hopes and dreams of the societies in which they live. Through our Catholic Conference of Oklahoma we can make valuable contributions to the common good of the society in our own state.
As Catholics we believe that the shaping of public policy is not simply a task for others, but for each of us, and that the principles of Catholic Social Teaching can be used to strengthen public life and build a better society.
The Catholic Conference of Oklahoma articulates the timeless and universal principles of the Christian faith in response to the current issues and concerns of our society. The action of the Conference fosters an active dialogue in our inexorable commitment to the truth.
The Family Policy Institute of OK is excited to see the launch of the CCO. The Archdiocese has been a tremendous partner in the efforts to strengthen families, protect life at all stages, and promote religious liberty. The new work of the Conference can only enhance and expand those efforts.
