A new poll completed on June 7th by Right Strategy Group showed voter approval of State Question 788 — so-called ‘medical’ marijuana — at 50-43 in favor. While those in favor outnumber those against, the gap is narrowing very quickly.
Just a month ago support for 788 was easily in double-digits and just 60 days ago was leading by at least 20 points. This trend demonstrates that voters begin to question the wisdom of passing 788 when they are informed about its lack of regulatory framework.
The Catholic Conference joined the Coalition against 788 very early for a number of reasons, chief among them that the measure likely will create a public health and safety crisis due to a lack of regulations concerning the level of access to marijuana.
