Cementing his deep-rooted position on abortion, Gov. Kevin Stitt made clear his conviction that life begins at conception.
“As I have said all along, I believe that life begins at conception,” Stitt said Wednesday on the House floor during the 28th annual Rose Day at the Capitol.
Quoting the Bible, he said, “‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you.’ So, God our creator recognizes that life begins in the womb, and he knew every one of us before we were born.”
Stitt, a father of six, said one of the reasons he ran for office was to protect life.
