Key Pro-life Bill Wins House Approval, Awaits Signing

Senate Bill 1267, authored by Sen. Greg Treat (R-OKC) and Rep. Kevin Calvey, (R-OKC), passed out of the full House by an overwhelming vote of 77-12. The bill prohibits a medical provider from receiving Medicaid funds through the state if that medical provider has trafficked (or is associated with any organization that has trafficked) aborted baby body parts.

Tony Lauinger, State Chairman of Oklahomans for Life, detailed, “[The bill harkens] to the undercover videos of abortionists callously haggling over how much additional money they can get for harvesting and trafficking in the organs of babies they have killed. This horrific spectacle has been viewed on television screens across the country, and yet taxpayer money continues going to entities that have been involved in this grotesque practice.”

The bill now moves to the governor’s desk where it is expected she will sign in the next few days.
