One of the strongest anti-abortion bills in the country will go into effect later this week in Oklahoma.
A doctor who performs an abortion would be charged with a felony, under the measure. They would face up to 10 years in prison and a maximum $100,000 in fines, according to KFOR-TV in Oklahoma.
The only exception under the measure would be if an abortion was necessary to save the life of the mother.
GOP Gov. Kevin Stitt signed Senate Bill 612 into law April 12, the TV station also reports.
