Texas judge grants temporary restraining order blocking pre-Roe abortion ban

Abortion rights groups in a Texas county won a court victory on Tuesday after a judge granted a temporary restraining order to block the state’s ability to ban abortions.

The American Civil Liberties Union represented abortion providers in the civil lawsuit filed on Monday in Harris County, whose attorney said the temporary restraining order will remain in effect until a hearing on July 12, according to KHOU 11.

“Every day that clinics can remain open will save countless people from the life-altering risks and consequences of forced pregnancy,” the ACLU wrote on social media.
